Client: Rock Mill Centre
Location: New Mills, The Peak District, Uk
Date: 2024
Brief and how I responded: To create a floor mural showing a healthy river system and assets for a series of 5 animated maps that are projected over the top of a 3D map of the area, showing how the landscape has changed over time and how it could look with more work to re-wild it into the future.
Creative Process: The mural design was drawn in procreate digitally and hand painted by myself and Shaun Gillon. The animation assets were all hand drawn in procreate and animated by Barney Heywood from https://www.standandstare.com/
Other collaborators: Consultation Derbyshire Wildlife Trust and Mersy Rivers Trust. Lighting designer Rachel Cleary and photography Justin Garner.
Quote from the client:
"We selected Phoebe for her lovely style and experience. We had a tricky combined mural and animation brief that involved conveying a lot of specific detail and engaging diverse viewers. She achieved all our aims beautifully and contributed massively to the projects by being flexible, organised and dedicated."
